Using Op-Eds to Build Credibility Across Diverse Audiences
A nonpartisan reform group in the Mid-Atlantic had spent nearly a decade advancing a specific state policy, but its work had gained limited media traction. The organization was small, and the issue was highly technical—making it difficult to attract broader attention.
To build momentum and demonstrate that the group’s work was credible, nonpartisan, and relevant across political and demographic lines, I ghostwrote two op-eds for distinct audiences.
One was written for a publication serving the Black community. The other appeared in RealClearPolitics, a respected center-right policy outlet.
Together, the pieces expanded the organization’s digital footprint, strengthened its public positioning, and helped generate additional media attention as it advanced meaningful policy changes within the state.
Building from the Ground Up to the U.S. Senate: An Education Advocacy Group
A client came to me while building a new advocacy organization from the ground up. The team already had a strong reputation and a leader with vision, but they needed to launch a new strategy to advance education policy issues at both the federal and state levels.
Their work required clear communication around challenging, often polarizing issues, including antisemitism and debates over race and gender in public schools.
I worked with their team to build the messaging strategy, core language, explainers, and website content using clear, credible language to share their investigative research and policy
positions.
I also developed a content and messaging strategy for their website, created infographics for Capitol Hill, and helped shape white papers and other advocacy materials. One of my
infographics was cited in a letter signed by 50 U.S. senators.
When clients hire Krasne Strategies, they get a partner who finds the right words to communicate sensitive, complicated subjects clearly, credibly, and effectively.
One Civil Rights Organization. One Press Release. Three National Stories.
An up-and-coming boutique litigation firm came to me for help developing the messaging strategy for a civil rights lawsuit they were preparing to file.
The challenge was clear: the firm was new, the subject matter was sensitive, and the media did not yet know who they were.
Rather than build an oversized media strategy for a brand new organization, I created a focused media list of roughly 50 niche reporters and wrote a specific, succinct press release designed to
make the legal issue clear and newsworthy.
The next day, the client had three national stories.
A big part of my work is helping clients build a narrative strategy for their industry– particularly in policy and law.
